The news that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming up for the film adaptation of the landmark Belgian comic series Tintin is extremely promising. The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn already has a first rate cast to match the production team. There’s even a blog set up to follow the movie’s development.
Besides the Time Warp Trio, Tintin was probably my most significant childhood reading experience. It’s hard to tell if the story of a stilish and enterprising young Belgian reporter informed my adult interests or if it was the other way around. Either way, this is a movie I look forward to seeing.
